Challenge: Develop a means to
immediately communicate with (and generate shipping business from)
branch offices of a FedEx global or national account following contract
approval.
Strategy: Create an "endorsement"
welcome kit containing helpful activation tools to assist customers
in shipping.
Execution: The kit included an
endorsement letter from the signing company headquarters, a customized
newsletter entitled "The Works," rates information and a personalized
telephone file card. High-concept photography of a fountain pen was
used as a recurring image in all
elements.
Copy delivered a strong, persuasive message: "Your boss just penned
a deal that puts you in charge of 127,000 assistants, 37,000 vehicles,
564 aircraft, 24 hours a day. So now when you need express delivery
services, you're the smart one who's in control and gets to save the
company money. Not a bad deal. FedEx."
